Webquest Project Guide

To help you along, read, discuss, and answer  the following questions and/or ideas with your group.  Remember, the major goal of this project is about how well you and your group can put together an educational yet entertaining video in a cooperative and resourceful way.  Everyone must work together.

 

Answer the following questions/statements as a “check list” for how well your group is doing:

 

 

  1. Has everyone read the webquest and understand the assignment?
  2. What character is everyone going to be?
  3. Does everyone understand what cancer is?
  4. Can everyone define sarcoma, carcinoma, leukemia, and lymphoma?
  5. Has everyone written the required “background” information pertaining to their character?
  6. Does everyone have full references for the “background” information?
  7. Do we have a basic outline or script for the video?
  8. What materials/costumes/special effects do we need?
  9. Do we have to make special arrangements at school (ie the use of a room or video editing)?
  10. When are we going to shoot the video?
  11. Do we have a “rain” date for shooting the video?
  12. Where are we going to shoot the video?
  13. Do we need to send out an “emergency buoy” (email to Mr B) from the webquest at this time with any concerns or questions?
  14. What other people are going to help with making the video?
  15. Does everyone understand that they have to say a required amount of “background” information during the video?
  16. Do we have all of our resources, information, outline/script, etc… in a folder to be turned in as the portfolio along with the video?
  17. Do we have the right video format (ie. standard VHS)?
  18. Have we checked the webquest rubric to ensure we did everything?
  19. Is there anything extra we can do to help promote the project?

Background and References:

 

Begin gathering resources (see section on webquest to help) to be placed in your portfolio, resources that you will use to develop your character and be used in the video.

 

Remember, all resources are to be internet related and that you must have the required about in accordance to the webquest assignment.

 

Write the background information that you find along with the proper APA reference (see handout and/or “citation machine webpage” on the webquest).

 

A final copy of your references need to be doubled spaced (DS) and in alphabetical order (either written or typed) and on a separate sheet of paper to be placed in your portfolio.

 

 

 

 

 

Script Outline:

 

Begin drawing out an outline of what you and/or your group will be doing and saying on the video based on the research and the webquest storyline.

 

Remember, this is only a basic outline or script to give you and your group direction.
