Drag racing is
two cars (bikes, boats, dragsters, etc) that race side by side to
reach the finish line first. I personally have been involved in drag
racing for almost 20 years. Bracket racing and sportsman racing is
where most of my time has been spent. The first time that I went to a
drag race was in Baton Rouge, LA at the Cajun Nationals. I was hooked
the when the first pair of cars made their pass down the qtr. mile.
This sport is one of the few that you can get up close to the action.
When you buy your ticket for the day a "pit pass" is
normally part of the deal. You can watch your favorite racer make a
pass and then go back to the pit and watch him/her get ready for the
next round. Most racers make time to visit with the fans and sign
autographs, this will depend on the location and how busy the racer
may be on a given day. For me this is the ultimate motorsport.
